writing, opinion, and multimedia journalism. He is the recipient of the 2023 Multimedia Story of the Year award for interactive graphics.
As a Dow Jones News Fund data reporting intern for the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at the University of Maryland, he conducted data analysis for the center's award-winning Off the Rails series on the dangers posed by long distance rail transport of hazardous materials. He has developed open-source datasets for the Data Liberation Project and the Open Elections initiative, among others.
